Most repeat prescriptions are computerised. Completed request slips ready for collection within 48 hours. Where not computerised, your request for repeat medication should be in writing and you should allow two working days before collecting your prescription.
Prescriptions will be posted if you include a stamped addressed envelope. The doctors will expect you to attend the surgery periodically for a check-up if you are on regular medication.
We can not accept requests for repeat prescriptions over the telephone, but if you have a fax facility requests can be accepted. We will also accept email requests for repeat prescriptions.

Extensive exemption and remission arrangements protect those likely to have difficulty in paying charges (NHS prescription and dental charges, optical and hospital travel costs). The NHS prescription charge is a flat-rate amount which successive Governments have thought it reasonable to charge for those who can afford to pay for their medicines. Prescription prepayment certificates (PPCs) offer real savings for people who need extensive medication.
These charges apply in England only. In Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales prescriptions are free of charge.
If you will have to pay for four or more prescription items in three months, or more than 14 items in 12 months, you may find it cheaper to buy a PPC.
There is further information about prescription exemptions and fees on the NHS website
Please allow 48 hours, excluding weekends and Bank Holidays, for your request to be processed. Any problems please telephone the surgery or email firstname.lastname@example.org
